LIVE EVENT PRODUCTION
We're Clare Sound, based in the University of Cambridge, we're one of the only wholly student-run event production companies in the country.

Established in the early noughties by a group of students passionate about sound, we've grown to stock a wide range of industry standard audio and lighting equipment. Working with our commercial partners, we've been able to expand our capability to include event electrics, staging and much more.

From full blown May Balls to club nights, our team of passionate and skilled volunteer technicians are here to deliver your events to the highest standard. Upon leaving Clare Sound, many of our people have gone on to pursue professional careers in the event tech industry.
We offer a range of services and hire options for event organisers.

Generally, there are two options when hiring equipment for your event, a dry hire or a wet hire.
​
A dry hire involves hiring the equipment only. You are responsible for setting up, operating and de-rigging the equipment yourself. This is generally suitable for smaller events with fairly uncomplicated tech. This is a cheaper option which will suit organisers on a budget. A wet hire is generally suitable for larger or more complex events where our technicians do everything for you. Our technicians are highly trained and can make significant difference to the quality of sound. Find out about our wet hire services here.
